JEC Democrats Fact Sheet: Ending DACA Will Hurt Rural Economies and Communities

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Joint Economic Committee Democrats released a fact sheet today that highlights the economic impact of rural DACA recipients. Dreamers play an important role in rural areas, where their economic contributions can help towns get back on their feet after years of slow economic growth. In rural America, these estimated tens of thousands of young people are part of the answer to building sustainable economies in small towns across the country.

Congress should act quickly to pass the Dream Act, which will add $22.7 billion to the economy per year, to allow these young people to continue to work in the communities that they have been members of for their entire lives.
